I've been wanting to use madras plaid in the boys room for years (see here and here--my devotion to madras does not seem to be echoed by you all, but that's fine). Last week Pottery Barn Kids had a sale on bedding, and the madras quilts were 40% off. I jumped on it.
I pulled some Ikea Stockholm Blad curtains out of the curtain stash (that stash is never-ending), and bought some red husband pillows for the boys for leisurely reading in bed.
those curtains are so perfect and i never would have thought to use them!
ReplyDeleteI like the madras!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE MADRAS!!! Those quilts are awesome!! Also... Why have I never thought to use a Husband pillow in bed?? For some reason in my head they only go on the floor, but this is a fantastic idea!!
ReplyDeletePeter asked for one when I was perusing a PBK catalogue. I hadn't thought of husband pillows since college, but the boys love them!
DeleteI ALL on board with the plaid - a classic, ALWAYS - but I have to demurr on the curtains. I just.... can't. (sorry)
ReplyDeleteAh, to each his own :-)
DeleteLooks great! Those quilts are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOkay look, I think by now you know I solidly like you so this is not at all like a personal attack, but those curtains with that bedding is TERRIBLE. Like, it hurts to look at the two together. You may be thinking since there's green and red in both they go, but they don't. You have to change it! What are the other curtain options?
ReplyDeleteI like them both individually but I'm not sure if I love them together. I don't hate them but I'm just not sure. In the end though, it doesn't matter what anyone likes but you and the boys. If you love it, rock it:)
ReplyDeleteI don't mind them together....the real question is do YOU like them together!? I love the quilts...but if you wanted to leave the drapes, maybe fold the quilts at the end of the bed so there's not so much of the pattern showing. And also the curtains and madras wouldn't be right next to each other.
