Oh my heavens, people, today was basically an unqualified disaster on all fronts. Today started with my oldest being asked to leave summer camp after attending for one hour and ended with me killing a bug that I think was a roach, which sort of destroys some of the dreamy fantasies I have had about this house, although since we caught a mouse yesterday some of those fantasies had already hit the dust. In the middle of the day my children acted like deranged, incredibly clingy lunatics. I am 99% sure that the crazy behavior is a reaction to moving to a new house and starting a new summer camp (don't worry, he took care of THAT), but still, it was the sort of day that if I were young and childless and babysat these children I would probably keep my legs crossed forever. To be honest I am old and married and today has made me want to keep my legs crossed forever.
Can you see who is peeking out from beside my dresser? Don't worry, its going to take weeks before its done, you have plenty of time to guess.
I am most excited about the Princess's room, I love it to death. It is so PINK but not in a predictable way, I hope. The boys room is also coming together. Whoever commented a while back that the navy comforters would show every speck of lint was totally right and I need to invest in a lint brush.
So, I didn't have internet access for a week and now there are 700 unread posts in my reader and I am tempted by the "mark all as read" button because ack 700 unread posts is giving me agita. So! What have you all been up to?
Seriously, how do you get it all done?? I mean, moving is enough, but you have already done a ton of decorating. It would have taken me at least a year to get the chiang mai dragon on the wall. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI am such an idiot. I was like, I don't see any of the kids peeking out of the dresser (I scrolled up and down at least twice). Is she talking about Carlita (the awesome sock monkey). Then, I realized you meant the dragon. And I felt stupid.
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited to see the chiang mai dragon. Good for you! Everything already looks like it's coming along. Moving is so hard but keep your chin up.
ReplyDeleteTuesday, July 5th was also an unqualified disaster here,so there must have been something in the banshee water that day. My condolences.
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, I adore that sneak peek of pink in your daughter's room; definitely not the expected use.
Also, go forth and "mark all as read" guilt-free; we all have to do it at times.
