I bought a Malm three drawer dresser for a night table on my side of the bed. I like the modern, simple lines, and I've wanted to use O'verlays ever since Danika announced on her blog she was making them. I ordered the Pippa kit 3 set.
And they are fabulous.
I primed them with Zinsser 1-2-3 primer, then spraypainted them gold. I hot glued them onto the Malm front. Luckily hot glue comes off without leaving a mark, because it took me a few tries to get them even.
Crossing stuff off the master bedroom to-do list left and right!
White night stands (one and two)

ReplyDeleteLisa, this is stunning. I love it. I need to go take a closer look at the overlays. Have you ever used them on furniture that was not from Ikea?
ReplyDeleteLove the overlays, what a difference!!
ReplyDeleteI love how that looks. Are overlays just for Ikea furniture? There's no Ikea near me:(
ReplyDeleteNo. Although they are mainly sized for Ikea furniture, they will make custom sizes if you contact them. You can get whatever size you want.
ReplyDeletethanks!
ReplyDeletethis is my first time using them, but they were really easy to use, and you can get custom sizes.
ReplyDeletethank you! I think the work may come to a screeching halt, as I am still thinking about what to do about the art over the dresser.
ReplyDeleteThat rocks. And that's good to know about hot glue. Of course, I should already know that since my hot-glued Easter egg wreath fell apart. In essence: thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteYour nightstand looks great! I've been dying to try O'verlays too. I just haven't found the right spot yet. There are so many options too...I can't decide which one I want. But, the Pippa is awesome!
ReplyDeleteHello gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI want to try them to jazz up our long Malm dresser- except I'm not ready to paint them (maybe in the future- I've been looking at tutorials) and they're that birch color, which I'm not so into now. But I figure some white O'verlays will totally tie in my white nightstands and pull the room together- now to choose which pattern....
ummm- just realized that someone might think that the 'hello gorgeous' is targeted to you and I meant the nightstands... not that you're not gorgeous too- I just wasn't intending to be creepy, merely Barbara Steisandy
ReplyDeleteamy, I figured as much :-)
