my rug fell apart

Remember the pink and orange rug I bought for the bathroom?

It was too long so I cut off the edge and hot glued it.  So far, so good.  Except that this rug is in my downstairs bathroom.  Which is used by my children.  Who have really terrible aim.

I have a few other cotton weave rugs, and they are all washable.  I figured this one was too.  I washed it.

Apparently that was a mistake.

It appears I am in the market for a new, washable rug.

  1. Uhg, hate that.  I did that with a rag rug from Crate and Barrel and the color faded and the rug did the same as yours.  I now stick with cheapy throw rugs because I have the need to wash them too.

  2. OH NO!  Well at least you have the extra piece hanging on the wall in memory.

  3. If that is the end you hot glued, why not just cut off the bad bit and hot glue it again? It'll hold you for a while.

I think I will probably cut off the end and attempt to sew it, because otherwise every time I wash it I will lose six inches.

  6. Maybe you should do a vinyl rug? Sorry about that...and that is the perfect example of why we are never done.
