Meet George, our new cardboard Texas longhorn.

If you're popping over from Isabella and Max Rooms's twitter feed, welcome!  Feel free to look around.

The living room is mostly done, for the simple reason that I just took all our old stuff and put it in the new place. Its the room I spent the most time working on over the last year, so everything is practically new.  However, I didn't want to put the Lack shelf above the tv again.  The tv is on a short wall between two doorways, so there isn't much space for a gallery of art around it.

I wanted to put up an animal trophy of some sort.  We decided on George.

You can see Fred in our previous house here. Yes, we have named all our cardboard animals after the Weasley twins.

We considered this horse head from ZGallerie, but no.

We also looked at Anthropologie's selection of paper-mache heads.  I was a big fan of the zebra--its painted over newspaper, so it has a great textured look.

West Elm has also jumped on the bandwagon.

We also considered a sailfish, but the wall is short and sailfish are generally huge.  (You can find them fairly inexpensively on craigslist.)

The Mister liked George the best, so that's who we got.

Welcome to the family.  (Your little brother Fred is destined for another room in the house.)

  1. George is adorable. So are you going to the first showing of Harry Potter? I'm excited to see it but we don't have a babysitter so it will probably be out for a while before we can see it:(

  2. I would love to go see HP this weekend, but we don't have enough babysitting, so no...hopefully in a week or two!
